I’m a mother, teacher, musician and author. We wear many hats, don’t we ladies? I am a wife to a very patient man and mother of two jubilant children, Jack and Shelby. I have taught high school English going on twelve years while attending grad school at University of Alabama.

The past couple of years I have learned that for most of my life, I played religion. I knew the church answers and the church way, yet I felt hollow and unprepared for struggles. However, our Father has a way of turning turbulent times into golden moments of realness and honesty which brings healing and hope.

So I pray if you choose to read any of my ramblings, please understand I’m still working out this faith thing. I have more questions than answers, but perhaps we can learn together.

  2. Hi Brayden

There’s a space that needs your face:D I’m missing your great writing pieces on Mind’s Seat. Is everything okay? Just checking in and letting you know that you are being thought of, prayed for by Karen and me, and very much missed.

May the Lord give you and your family His richest blessings in 2014!

    • Hey Kevin,

That is so kind of you to check in. 🙂 I’ve been writing, but it’s been for a book I’m hoping to finish and get published before the summer’s end. I need to get back to posting at least once a week. Thank you for the encouragment. How has your Christmas season been? How’s Karen?

      Hope all is well!

  3. Hi Brayden – Marmar visited my blog and I visited the author page of Mind’s Seat. For some reason (well we know Who)), your profile spoke to me, and that is how I ended up here! Thank you for being a light to others through your encouraging words.I too have young kids at home and am trying to bring them closer to God. But more than that, I too am a woman. and a daughter first and foremost. I don’t know you, but I sense some loss – know that I feel it and am sending hugs and prayers your way.
    God bless you!

    • Emy,
Sorry it has taken me literally months to respond. Yes, there has been some loss and subsequently the gracious healing. It has been a process, but Abba restores. I haven’t written lately because I have been in just this weird place of just being. But it’s hard to do with a family 🙂 I hope you are well and blessed. Thank you for your kind words and for stopping by my page.
