Due Season Part Deaux

http://bible.us/Ps46.10.NASB “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” I read this today and felt like I was slapped with a cold fish! “Cease striving.” Let that marinade for a minute. What have you been striving for but alludes you? That promotion? That relationship status change? That goal weight? Income? Property? Stop striving. It will all happen in due season! Not only that but the second part of the verse talks about exalting God. I think we can gather two nuggets of wisdom. One, no matter what God should be and will be praised. So no matter who is president or what is happening in your life, He will be praised. Two, I think it is a reminder to us of why are we even bothering with striving? Our purpose is not to strive, but trust and praise Him. And we make those our priorities, striving ceases. Our perspective changes to His, our hearts become molded into His thus our daily lives become flourishing beauties instead of strained, malnurished deficiencies. Come alive in praising and exalting Him who is worthy of praise. There you will find your peace.
