Jesus’s brother, James, wrote this book geared towards believers of Christ. James, himself, did not believe in his brother until after the resurrection. I can only imagine what it was like growing up with the Son of God who could do no wrong. The jealousy and sibling rivalry for James would be hard to imagine and yet I believe at some point and time we can all relate. We can relate with not believing in God and doubting Jesus, but in the end I hope we all realize that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one shall come to the Father unless through Him.
But how do we live Christian lives? How do we set ourselves apart? This book is, in my opinion, Christianity 101. James presents very basic, but thought-provoking, life-changing ideals that helps define the Christian life. As we study this, my prayer is that we all learn and apply these concepts to our lives, because the world judges Jesus based on our words and actions. What kind of Jesus does your circle of family, friends, co-workers, ect. see?
